2022 MotoGP World Championship to be hosted by Lusail Circuit Sports Club
One of the most exciting and action-packed MotoGP events will be held at the spectacular Lusail International Circuit from March 4 to March 6, hosted by Lusail Circuit Sports Club (LCSC). This event is the only one-night race of the FIM MotoGP World Championship 2022.
Mr. Abdulrahman Al-Mannai, president of Qatar Motor and Motorcycle Federation and LCSC said: “We work tirelessly with competent government authorities to ensure that each time the Lusail Circuit Sports Club hosts an event of this magnitude, it exceeds the bars that were previously set in terms of safety, security and overall sustainability."
"The Club also constantly improves and optimizes every aspect of circuit zone allocation and activity schedule to leave both fans and race participants equally satisfied with the overall experience. It’s rather simple, the world places its trust in us, and we repay it by organizing breathtakingly fun and exciting events,” he added.
In 2004, Qatar hosted the first event at the Lusail International Circuit and Sete Gibernau won the race. In 2008, Qatar celebrated its first-ever floodlit Grand Prix in the history of the MotoGP World Championship. In 2021, LCSC hosted two race rounds in a row, making this year’s season open the 20th race held at the venue.
Qatar is among the top vaccinated countries worldwide and has hosted multiple sports events successfully in a controlled environment. Visitors and fans can witness all the action stored for this event without worrying about their safety.
The event aligns itself with the Qatar National Vision 2030 sustainability goals by optimizing each phase using the most feasibly sustainable and environment-friendly methods.
